Springbok Online Casino Review

Springbok Casino was founded in 2012 and aims to celebrate everything that's great about South African culture by offering you premium, world-class online casino gaming software overlaid with local flavour.

They have over 300 Casino games on offer, and 150 mobile games, including all the Card and Table favourites and top-class Video Slots.    

This casino is operated by Quadgreen N.V, a company licensed, authorized, and regulated by the Government of Curacao, a Caribbean island just off the coast of Venezuela. It’s not as well-known as many of the big name operators we have written about. However, after doing some research, we’re happy enough that it’s a legit operator and isn’t a scam casino site.

All of the casino games are made by RTG (RealTime Gaming). They were established in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998, and partnered with a team of mathematicians to ensure that all their games are truly random, and hence they are guaranteed to be fair.

We’ll be honest, as is our mission here, RTG isn’t the best casino games software company by any stretch of the imagination. However, it isn’t terrible, either, and we wouldn’t want to write it off.

The layout of the homepage is awkward, with the ‘Games’ tab in the main header menu leading to an information section with a very badly designed sidebar menu. 

The subheader menu on the homepage gives you all the options that you need; All, New, Progressive, Slots, Speciality, Table, Video Poker, and Mobile Games, but clicking any of the games will open a new window to a Lobby section of the Springbok website.

The sidebar of this new Lobby section offers Slots, New Games, Table Games, Video Poker, Speciality, Progressives, and Favourites. 

The following is an overview of which games are offered according to casino game categories.

 

Clicking ‘Slots’ from the sidebar menu will display all the Video Slots available, and give you the option to show 5-Reel, 3-Reel, 6-Reel, Bonus Round, and Progressive games. 

The progressive slots are in the majority here, but you can tell which is which by the jackpot listed just below the thumbnail; the regular Video Slots do not have that.

Hovering over the thumbnail will give you the option to favourite the game, play it, or display the information panel by clicking the red arrow.

Unfortunately, there is no free-to-play demo mode at Springbok, so you’ll have to play with real cash from the beginning.  

 

Springbok Casino Progressive Jackpot Games 

Clicking the ‘Progressives’ option from the sidebar, you can choose to display All, Table Games, or Slots. Only four games will display here, which are the ones with the highest jackpots, but in fact, there are many more to be found in the ‘Slots’ section.

The Aztec’s Millions jackpot is often well over £1,000,000, so it’s definitely worth a punt, but the others are considerably lower.

There is quite a good offering of Video Poker games at Springbok, including Aces & Eights, All American, Deuces Wild, Bonus, Jackpot, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Loose Deuces, and Sevens Wild, with Deluxe and Double variations also playable. 

There are also multi-hand versions of each of these games available if you want to play those.

Playing any game at Springbok will earn you Springbok comp points, which can be exchanged for cash. 

For every R10 (£0.58) you wager, you’ll earn 1 Comp Point. You can then exchange your points for cash at the Cashier under the Redeem Comps section, with 100 Comp Points equal to R1 (£0.06). Springbok will occasionally offer double Comp Points promotions for certain games.

Springbok Online Casino uses the industry standard SSL encrypted connection on both the homepage and the Lobby sections of the website. You can check that at any time by looking for the “HTTPS://” at the start of the web address. 

Springbok also has a valid gaming licence from the Government of Curacao. 

Springbok Casino is optimised for mobile devices, and although the desktop site isn’t the greatest, the mobile site is slightly better. The navigation is much more intuitive, but it still has quite a few bugs, like the header image obscuring some of the menu options on iOS. 

 

There is also a Springbok Casino app available for Android devices. It is free to download and rectifies most of the issues with the mobile website.

The ‘Support’ tab in the header menu of the homepage will display the Springbok customer service options. They say it operates around-the-clock, so there should be no problem getting in touch with someone to answer your queries.

 

help@springbokcasino.co.za is the support email address for Springbok, and although they don’t have an average response time listed, a search of Google revealed that they will usually respond within a day.

There are some stipulations for deposits and withdrawals-

For marketing themselves as South Africa’s number one online casino, Springbok ha some work to do to live up to that claim.

The design of the website isn’t the best, there are no live dealer games, they do not offer withdrawals to Visa or Mastercards, and their app is only available for Android. 

You can check this site out for yourself, and we don’t want to totally put you off, but we can definitely say that there are better casinos out there and you’ll find many of them reviewed right here on our site.
